Students bring spring to life in ER

Since 2009, the students at Chapel Hill Christian School have been painting the ER windows at Akron Children’s Hospital 4 times each year.

Typically, about 6 students in grades 4-6 are selected to share in the fun and “leave their mark” in the community.

We love to come and paint, and sometimes we “make friends” and paint together with kids who are waiting for care in the ER.

It is beautiful to see the students’ enthusiasm and compassion when they see someone who needs cheered up.

Akron Children’s has been a great fit for our art classes because so many of our students have personal experiences with the hospital – and who doesn’t love good art? It’s a real blessing to everybody involved.

As part of our year-long anniversary celebration, we’re telling the story of Akron Children’s through the eyes of past and present employees, doctors, donors, volunteers and patient families. We encourage you to share your own memories and stories about us.
