Our triplets are thriving after being born at 29 weeks

Thomas tripletsMy wife, Amy, and I had triplets on Oct. 10, 2013. Lilly weighed 2 lbs.,11 oz., Josie was 3 lbs., and Charlie was the smallest at 1 lb., 14 oz.

Amy delivered at 29 weeks because she had absent end diastolic flow and Charlie wasn’t growing in the womb. After a successful c-section operation with 36 team members, the Thomas Triplets were born.

During their time in Akron Children’s NICU they had some small victories and some small setbacks. Charlie developed NEC and had stomach surgery a month after birth.

Now all 3 kids are strong, healthy and flourishing. The staff at Akron Children’s Hospital was phenomenal and is a major reason why they are all doing so great.

I see NICU stories all the time on Facebook and I wanted to share ours. Enjoy!

As part of our year-long anniversary celebration, we’ll be telling the story of Akron Children’s through the eyes of past and present employees, doctors, donors, volunteers and patient families. We encourage you to share your own memories and stories about us.
