On Thursday, April 2 around 8 p.m, I started throwing up every 5 to 10 minutes. Then as the night went on, I started throwing up every 3 or 4 minutes.
Once morning arrived I started throwing up every couple minutes and I started not breathing very well. My color changed once late afternoon hit.
My mom called the paramedics and they took me to Akron Children’s ER. The doctors took me to another room to drain my stomach completely. When that was finished they took me to a small room for us to wait until admitting me into the PICU.
I was in the PICU for about 2 whole weeks. By Friday, April 17, I was 98% better than before. That’s the day I finally went home.
Thanks to the PICU nurses and doctors for fixing me. Thank you, Akron Children’s for fixing me. We appreciate it a lot!
As part of our year-long anniversary celebration, we’re telling the story of Akron Children’s through the eyes of past and present employees, doctors, donors, volunteers and patient families. We encourage you to share your own memories and stories about us.
